At WNB Financial, our commitment to the community goes beyond taking care of your banking needs. As a community bank, we understand the importance of giving back, building strength and vitality in the communities we serve.
To request a donation or sponsorship, please fill out our Request for Donation or Gift form(Opens in a new Window). Requests are reviewed by our Public Relations Committee on the third Thursday of each month. Please allow 30 days from submission to receive a response.
Our coworkers take pride in volunteering their time and talent. This commitment is embedded in our Mission to enrich lives and our Core Value of integrity – doing the right thing for the right reason every time. See how we gave back in 2017.
Since 1999, we have hosted concerts during the summer months in Winona’s Lake Park and the Bob Welch Aquatic Center. All concerts are free and feature music, activities, and a $1 hot dog lunch. All proceeds from hot dog sales are donated to local non-profit organizations.
Every February, we hold a Chili Cookoff to benefit Ready Set School, a non-profit organization that works to ensure all eligible K-12 students in Winona County have the basic and necessary supplies and clothing for school. The event features all-you-can-eat chili made by local restaurants trying their luck at creating the best-tasting chili in town!
Looking for a warm, safe place to trick-or-treat? Our Historic Downtown Office offers an annual Trick-or-Treat Tour for children on the Saturday before Halloween. Kids are invited to dress in their costumes and visit 204 Main Street for trick-or-treating. Visit if you dare!
Bears & Blankets
Community members donate teddy bears and blankets each November and December to support our Bears & Blankets collection campaign. Bank coworkers distribute the items to local organizations before Christmas, and those organizations then distribute the bears and blankets to those in need of comfort throughout the year.
Our Bank coworkers work together with teachers to create financial presentations for students. Topics include: the importance of saving, how to use and balance a checking account, how a bank works, credit history and reports, credit cards vs. loans, and careers in banking. We’re happy to customize a presentation to the needs of your class.
We offer two workbooks titled “Saving with Mandy & Randy” and “How To Do Your Banking” for teachers to integrate into curriculum. The workbooks and teachers’ guides are free and available by request. “Saving with Mandy & Randy” is geared toward 1st and 2nd grade students as they learn vocabulary words, identify and count coins, add and subtract money, and practice savings skills. For middle and high school students, teachers can utilize the 7-chapter “How To Do Your Banking” workbook, which helps students practice checking account management, develop savings strategies, create personal budgets, keep organized financial records, and establish and keep a good credit rating.
It has been a long tradition for area students to take a field trip to our Historic Downtown Office. With our original steel vault, impressive architecture, and museum of African safari mounts, the Bank has always been a field trip favorite. We also offer “behind the scenes” tours that can be customized to fit lesson plans.
